Connecticut Chimp Victim Will Be Blind for Life

Connecticut Chimp Victim Will Be Blind for Life
4/7/09
Quote:
HARTFORD, Conn. — Doctors say a Connecticut woman who was nearly killed by a chimpanzee suffered such damage to her eyes that she will be blind for life.
Doctors say Charla Nash is improving, but faces two years of surgical procedures.
Nash is at Ohio's Cleveland Clinic and is listed in critical, but stable condition.
She lost her hands, nose, lips and eyelids in the Feb. 16 attack in Stamford.
The 200-pound chimp was kept as a pet by Nash's friend.

Chimpanzee as a pet. Nice. If I had a friend that decided a creature of the wild would make a good "pet" I would not be visiting their house unless the thing was locked in a cage. I don't feel sorry for her or the friend who owned the chimp. I feel sorry for the chimp who payed the price for what it does... Being the animal it is!!

I feel sorry for the chimp also BUT, this woman is gonna be a mess for the rest of her life and I do feel sorry for her......it wasnt as if she had just went to her friends house NOT knowing about the chimp....it had been there for years...thats kinda like saying you dont feel sorry for someone who goes to visit a friend and gets bit by their dog that had been there for years.

ANY animal with teeth can bite, so I guess humans have to be on top of things and make sure that their frineds and family have all their pets secured before they enter the residence?.....mmmmmm
