GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 9 (UPI) -- A woman in New Era, Mich., says the Save My Planet Organic Pet Toys pulled by the Meijer supermarket chain are infested with worms.

WZZM-TV of Grand Rapids, Mich., said Debbie Fitzgerald discovered an infestation of worms in the pet toy after purchasing the item from a Meijer store.
An unidentified store representative confirmed the supermarket chain based in Walker, Mich., has pulled the Save My Planet toy from its stores.
Grand Rapids' WOOD-TV said the type of worms found in the endangered species collection item is unknown.

Meijer: Bugs in pet toys are caterpillars

Meijer: Bugs in pet toys are caterpillars
Quote:
Meijer says the bugs found in organic dog toys sold by the retailer were North American moth caterpillars, not worms.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company earlier this week pulled the "Save My Planet" pet toy from all of its nearly 200 stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio after a customer said one was infested with worms.
