Man charged after dragging dog with car Quote: 8938 S. Claremont Ave., was arrested June 1 after an off-duty Chicago police officer saw the dog being dragged behind Chambers' car, Chicago Police Sgt. Marty Gainer said Tuesday. Chambers told police he tied the dog to the back of his car and dragged it because he was angry at it, Gainer said. "This is disturbing, especially by a person of this age," Gainer said. Chambers was arrested outside his home, Gainer said. He also was charged with battery and resisting arrest because he punched the off-duty officer in the chest, Gainer said. The dog survived the dragging though it was skinned over much of its body, Gainer said.
