Meet Earl. He was 8 wks when I put him in the truck. Now he's 3yrs and 145lbs. It takes more than a quick walk around the truck and trailer to exercise him, which is great for me of course,so at least I get exercise along with him. I have a ramp for him which folds up and sits in front of the passenger seat. It took a long time till he could jump in and get out on his own. He doesn't need the ramp now but I keep it in case he should get hurt or when he gets older..I can't pick the numbskull up! Yes shots are crucial, along with protection from fleas and ticks and heartworm meds.
I feed him Natural Balance duck and potato. Its natural and healthy and keeps the poop and farts down to a minimum! But that's just my choice. There are some great spots to turn a dog loose. One place is in Green River Utah, behind the conoco. Nothing but space to run. And the staging area at the walmart in Los Lunas,NM is next to nothing but desert and jackrabbits. I would be totally bored without him. Guys tell me all the time...'that's too big a dog to put in the truck!' I tell them he's the same size as the last butthead I tried teaming with,he just doesn't run his mouth! I also spend alot of money on hotels and idleaire to keep Earl cool in the heat, and I turn the receipts in when I do my taxes. ps,I don't work for marten, just thought it was a nice background with the blue sky.

Thank you! Nope. Ramp was around $125. at petsmart. Its the folding kind, not the one that slides up and down.

That is a big dog!!

Duke is not that big! I am really having trouble finding a company that wont mind me taking him with me! All I have heard is no not in company trucks! Thats fine and all and I am not against the idea of buying my own truck but my t/t otr expierence is not up to date! So I have to start over again! I have contacted several companys and getting the job is not a promblem but when it comes to my pal! I hear no over and over!

I hope everything works out and you get to keep your pal with you. I think its great having my best bud at work with me...I got lucky to be able to keep him. If I was told to get rid of him..well,I'd either have to buy a truck or hang a sign over Earl that said 'will work for food' and hang out on an off ramp begging with the rest of 'em!
