I grew up on a farm
I understand putting a animal out of its misery
And Ive done it
But Sheesh using a hammer, nope!!!!

Because his motives were good, he should not be charged
Dog owner should get a leash ticket, and a endangering the lives of others ticket (or what ever they call it)

I can't believe that Driver did not feel bad about killing the family of dogs. It is evident he did not get enough whoopins when he was a youngster

Baack,

I also would want to end the suffering of an animal and have done so. However I do question the motive of the driver. If I could not prevent further suffering, I would not add to it.

In the heat of the moment, he couldn't know if one blow would do it or not
I still remember butchering chickens
The ax was to big for me, so I had to keep going till it was done
Yes it was not a pretty sight, but once started it needed to be finished

Yes I am a dog lover, but in hindsight I would understand if it this was my dog
This is just as bad back on the farm, somebody would hit a "loose"farm dog and let it lay to suffer for hours

Yeah I can still remember that smell when parents did that to put food on the table. little off subject but it was probably a lot more humane than what the manufacturing process is now. Was the driver that hit and hammered the dog an adult? I can understand heat of the moment. That"s what the dog owner experienced. I am still trying to wrap my brain around what the driver did.

I hit a dog in January
When I got out to see the damage to my car and the dog
It was rolling around the road, twitching and kicking
In the heat of the moment I would have done about anything to stop the pain
Fortunately with in a few minutes it was up and limping off, probably to die

My point is unless your in that exact position of that driver you cant know what you would do, or like me and my background understanding something needed to be done

I still think if the dog wasn't loose we wouldn't be posting this
He is to blame
