You just don't know the difference between STRAY dogs and FERAL dogs.

STRAY dog in New Orleans after Katrina. Later RESCUED by A.R.N.O. and named ROCCO.
I fed ROCCO; as well as other STRAY dogs and FERAL dogs while I was working in NOLA after the Hurricanes in 2006.

TWO "stray" dogs (walking away from camera), one STRAY dog laying down, and one FERAL dog (born post-Katrina).

Well... he did have the legal right to shoot the dog as far as I am concerned. It was loose. It was on his property. However, one should have more compassion then to shoot an animal without reason. Just because its on your property is not good reason imho.

But it is the north, where its also illegal for you to shoot a burglar, and if you do he can sue you. And if your dog bites an intruder, he gets pts... so...

He shot the dog with-in city limits. He didn't "have the legal right" to shoot the dog.
Plus if you notice; the last sentence leaves the impression Kruse only shot the dog because of a "dispute" he was having with his neighbor.

Twa later found out Kruse thought Lena belonged to a neighbor he had been feuding with.

I spent over 10 years dealing with local animal rescue in a no kill shelter.

I know much more about them than I present.

We had the same problem
Back on the farm the local dogs would get together and mess with our horses
We didn't shoot them (looking back I should have)
But we had to chase them off with lunge whips

That is your right so to speak.

Too bad, we cannot do that with the kids that tear up property and other types.

Much like many of those I know involved in "rescue" can't differentiate between a responsible "breeder" and a "mill".....
