Probably, because most reasonable people figure they are actually washing the towels.
Until now, I always thought it was standard practice.

Try going without

I guess if you spend enough time living in the woods, you learn to be not so picky.

then why does my towel always smell like its been washed?

i always take a towel with me anyway. Main reason? the last company i worked for had free showers and you had to bring your own towel.

Yeah, that's nice. I'm with a company with over 100 terminals, so I rarely visit a truckstop shower anymore.

I think Sapp Brothers have the best, oh and Little America also. Problem with those is they're not all over. Maybe thats why they seem better. That other post was right, the big "chain" truck stops are so different. Not just state to state, but there can be BIG differences in the same city. Shower shoes are a must, and yeah, try not to touch the walls, floors etc.....

Most of the time I'm usually so dirty by the time I get in there, that I think the shower is judging me! I wonder what they say about us?

All the showers at truckstops are in a private room with a toilet, shower, and sink.

the sinclair truck stops have THE best showers. they're always clean, smell good, and some of them will even have a bath/hot tub along with the shower, like the sinclair in flagstaff, az. even some of the dumpy looking sinclairs have nice, clean showers. the one in pinon, co comes to mind. it's a junky looking t/s, but has better showers than any of the t/a's and flying j's i've been to.
