Oh, come on Tater, you know you don't want to shower when seeing someone else's hair stuck to the shower curtain that is going to suck right up to your body as soon as you step in.

I agree with you Tater! Back in the seventies I stopped at a truckstop somewhere in the south and bought some fuel, I had some time so I figured I'd get a shower... They gave me a towell and told me the showers were out back so I walked out there and found two plywood stalls outside with a garden hose and a spray nozzle and a bar of soap sitting in a cutout in the frame.

It was a little cold but I got clean! Whatever they offer these days is WAY better than what you used to get in most places back then. I haven't seen a bad shower in the last 20 years or so....

Ok, back to Klein's...... The whole truckstop is CREEPY and Filthy. I was concerned and did not feel safe the while time there.
STAY AWAY FARRRR WAY

Hot brown water coffee and food is ehh.
the trick about that truck stop is to stay away from the south rows. they're plagued with homosexual prostitution. if you have to park in that part of the t/s, hide inside of your sleeper and don't let anybody see that somebody is "home." the showers aren't THAT bad. they're a lot better than the ones at the triangle truck stop in westley, that one punjabi owned truck stop off of stockton blvd & highway 99 in sacramento, and the tracy truck stop on tracy blvd & i-205 in tracy.

oh, and don't you love that tight right turn getting on to golden state blvd? i would only know such details because i've been there a few times, and because i lived in fresno for 8 pathetic years. legal truck parking is limited within fresno.

Thats true, but to expect 4Star accomodations at a high volume business like a top chain fuel stop isnt right.

These places do not have to provide these services.
After a day or two without a bath a hair or two shouldnt prevent one from washing their funky butt and then roll on to better days.

Ive done the water hose over the fence in the past and was greatful for it.
Its not about being John Wayne SuperTrucker whipping the worlds ***.

Its about doing what you can with what you have and being "greatful
for"

I've got to agree with you on the T/A in Meridian. It's a freakin' dump. They closed up the trucker restrooms, probably so they wouldn't have to maintain them, and the restroom up front is share by ALL, including the happy travelers, street people, and anyone else that walks in. Pee all over the floor and toilets. No wonder the truckers are using the parking lot.
Then you have Shameeka, and Latrisha under the management of Mareesha up at the front counters and fuel desk. But they're usually too busy trying to text someone with there 6" fingernails or talking to one of the local hood hardlegs to tend to your business. After all, they did you a favor by showing up for "work" today. I didn't brave the showers. I decided to get my fuel and get the hell outta there. Just a tip.... if you go to the opposite side of I-20, there is a B/P station that has a truck lot and is very clean and safe. No one really knows about it and thinks it's only a gas/ conv. store. They have small, but clean restrooms and homemade biscuits in the morning. I don't think they have a shower, but I would take a truck bath, and hold off another day on the shower to avoid the T/A dump.

Worst showers? I would say the TA in Bloomington, Illinois. They're still the same small showers left over from when it was a Union 76. And they have never done a good job of cleaning them. Best showers? Try the Bosselman's... Big Springs and Grand Island, NE have the best hands down.

Yes Grand Island is a great place but all the bosselmans are great and clean I have to say that Bosselmans had a great idea on how a truck stop is suppose to be and they have some of the best food on the road ......
