Weak as hell and usually taste like they washed somebodys socks in it. I don't know who they have as a taste-tester or who tells them to make it so weak, but man I like COFFEE. Not that crap they try to pass off as coffee.

Just curious, but has anyone ever reported the really dirty places to the state board of health?

I have never reported any really bad ones. I usally only stop at the ones I know are clean. You would think that these large companies would have the cleaning down by now.

Petro on 75 in North Baltimore OH, best damn showers I've ever seen. The girls are in cleaning within seconds of you exiting and the sweet marble floors with anti skid pads on the floor outside are a nice touch too. Super hot water if you want it that way and a massaging shower head. They have a shampoo dispenser on the wall and give you three little soaps so that's nice too. I spent the better part of an hour in there just relaxing as it was the best shower experience I've ever had at any stop.

Worst stop ever was the Steel City in Gary IN. Horrible overpriced food and I could swear there were bug parts in my hard as a rock dinner roll, it was like 9 bucks for liver and onions. I stopped once because the J across the street was packed and never after that. The only upside was they had 8 or 10 foot hoses on the fuel island with good water pressure, but I had to repair the nozzle prior to use and the guard harassed me for using it without fueling even though I was the only truck on a 20 or so pump island.

Worst shower stall: Pilot, ex76 I-20, Tuscaloosa,Al - found a dead
beef tape worm someone crapped on the shower stall floor...Ewwhh..it was so nasty I didn't even bother to pick up dinner that evening. Don't get me wrong this doesn't speak for all the other Pilot stores. It's was just poor managment at that location. Most Pilots are good over all

Worst showers over all: TA & Petro - some of the showers need remodeling big time. They have those hard to clean outdated miniture tiles. (certain locations) However, there are some locations that have been remodeled with some marble tile which is a plus.

I can't really remember where this truck stop was, just that it was in NC by a Tyson plant,some little local stop....ANYWAY, I was on the truck with my now-ex, when he had a load to pick up at the Tyson plant....we had some time to kill,as the chickens were still quite alive, so we decided to go up the road for a shower. When we got there, they told us that the shower would be $10.00....ok, he paid the ten, and asked for an extra towel, one for him, one for me. They told him that would be another $10.00!! For the same shower room! (Because it was 2 people!??!) He got angry, told them never mind, handed me the towel, and we walked out the door.(I forgot to mention that the shower room was a separate little shack out back.) He walked me to the shower,then went back to the truck. I was 1/2 way through,with shampoo in my hair, when there comes a terrific pounding on the door! "Ma'am? Are you alone in theah? Is yore boyfriend in theah with you? Cuz if he is, he's gone go ta jail for stealin'! I have the po-lice with me!" (I just love that accent, and can not replicate it with the written word) I truly couldn't believe this! I quickly rinsed and dressed, and sure enough, the police were outside the door! They even made me stand right outside the door while they checked that closet of a shower for the "shower thief"!!! Meanwhile, my ex was sitting in his truck, watching all this happen, and laughing his rump off!! So, that is my worst, and funniest, truck stop shower experience.

that's the going rate unless you buy a minimum of 50 gallons of diesel, however I've never heard of them charging double for two people to use the same shower
