I used to love going into bossellmann's

I tend to gravitate to small family owned places - do not like the large pilot/flyingj/petro types.

as for my absolute fav - probably London BP auto truck....

(they still COOK the food there - )

Most places in the nation have a Petro, and in my own roadgoing experience, they're the Cleanest. Behind that would be the small 1-town stops, and then it degenerates from there...

I'd say over the years of hitting them in the tour bus, for fuel, showers, meals, etc. I would say the Petros overall and second choice would be the J's. At least in my experience, most TA's were dumps as well as Pilots. Some of the Love's were OK. Now understand, traveling in a tour bus, we had a shower, toilet, etc. But occassionally showers were taken at truck stops to have more room and to just take a break and get off of the bus. You can only sleep and live on one for so long, before you have to just get off and away for an hour or so. I still have all of my reward cards, and the ones most worn are the J's and Petros.

when the petro's started they were great. the iron skillit ws about as good as you could get... back in the day anyways. Theyre just about as nasty as the rest of them now.

My favorite truck stop would be a rest area or better yet a restraunt with a lot big enough t put a truck or two in... but not a truck stop

For the big chains Petro would come in first then Flying J then TA then Loves and Pilots tied for last.

I base this on parking lot size, sit down restaraunt available, clean showers, clean restrooms, fast friendly service, movie rooms/tv rooms.

I am sure there are some independants out there that are top notch but the sad thing is they are few and far between now a days.

I love that one too, my favorite place to stop on 75. I prefer the smaller independent truck stops, I would rather support them than some big chain "travel centre"
