Being that I ate at the J or the Iron Skillet once a week or once every 2 weeks, it was usually pretty #### good to me no matter what. The rest of the time it was baloney sammiches, crackers, and viennas. All thats over now though. Oh.. and I haven't stepped foot in a Subway since I quit OTR. Seems every Pilot has a subway now. I got sick of that crap when I was in a area where that was all to offer. I guess the only Pilot I can remember that has something different is in somewhere in Texas.. had a Arbys.

Anyway.. eat viennas and baloney for 2 weeks and you'll hit that nasty J like a starved ethiopian with a bad case of the munchies.

I agree with everyting said about flying hook but if you ever come up 61 in missouri stop at wayland. Fuel desk is the worst I've ever seen and thats saying a lot. They got a gal in the kitchen can make a steak as good as any five star and service in the dineing room is pretty good. Skip the buffett. It sucks.

I had steak and eggs at the hook in Haw River, NC last night. It was actually really good.

The coffee on the other hand...

I can tell that whoever makes the coffee here, does NOT drink coffee. You can taste the remnants of about a half a gallon of last night's evaporated and concentrated sludge that was left in the container with the fresh brew—YUCK!

Yesterday afternoon I went in and poured myself a cup... started to bring it to my lips to taste it... and smelled that it was well past its' prime. The gal who was cleaning the counters looked at me kinda funny when I said, "This coffee is horrible!" and poured it all down the sink. I had to go with a cup of over-sweetened Crap-a-chino instead.

I'm stuck here on a 34 hour reset... I thought the coffee might be a little better early this morning—no such luck.

Note to any Flying J employees who might by some miracle read this... please urge your higher-ups to do away with those nasty, industrial sized, 1000 gallon brown liquid vats. Coffee does NOT taste good when you simmer it all day long like a beef stew. Go the way of the Pilot—thermal carafes—drivers will thank you.

Only problem is.. I can be pretty funny at times, but sometimes I just flop at it. I just can't think of things fast enough sometimes. Usually have people rolling wether in a truck stop, on the radio, or just hangin out. Never though of being a comedian though.
