Wow the jessup ta is a pile of **** no doubt. I stopped there a week ago for fuel and pee break at 8am. It was 8 in the morning and I didnt feel safe there, can only imagine what its like at night, glad I gotta outta there quick. This ta is definately crossed off in my book.

Like I said, the T/A in Jessup is surrounded on three sides by the Maryland House of Corrections. The best thing that could happen to that TA and the one in Baltimore is for them to suffer the same fate as the T/A in Atlanta.

Well I sent an e-mail to TA about the Jessup truck stop, and the general manger called me within three hours of sending this email. I explained what I saw and felt and he deeply appologized many times and said he would talk to the crew that was working that day. I was impressed by this gm he said they now hire off duty sheriff deputies to do security at night and a little during the day. He said its a work in progress but they are starting to clean it up slowly.

The off duty cops that are there are as useless as the ones at the Travel Plaza in Baltimore. They are usually too busy either B.S.ing with the scum in the parking lots or hitting on "Shaquanda" behind the desk. Cops who work part time generally have no interest in their part time jobs other than the fact they are getting paid three times their hourly wage to be there. The Rent-a-cops at the Trucks Stops in Gary Indiana serve more of a purpose.

These two truck stops need to be shut down and bulldozed.

Baltimore Travel Plaza (T/A I-95 Exit 57): I pull into there after loading coil at Sparrows Point headed for Rochelle Ill. I am sweaty, smelly and in dire need of a shower and a meal.

Okay I've read all these posts and posts on other threads saying the Jessup TA was the worst on the planet.

I have to be the contrarian on this one and say it's not that bad.

Sure there's some standing water along the fence in the parking lot and yeah it smells like a truck stop but c'mon there are far worst places out there.

I've spent my break here about 5-6 times in the past 8 months and I've neither encountered nor witnessed anything atrocious. Maybe it's because each time I arrived in the morning and left in the afternoon but I don't remember being accosted by any pandhandlers or lot lizards. Sure there are few unsightly characters hanging out but I've never felt threatened. There are many other places I've been to that are ten times worse.

And there is one redeeming quality here: the asian massage here is excellent most of the time. There was one girl that was especially good at working out all the kinks in my back and legs. She wasn't there the last two times so I'm not sure if she still works there but she was great.

Yep that place sucks
