Human remains discovered behind Bessemer truck stop Human remains discovered behind Bessemer truck stop 9/6/08 The Birmingham News - AL Quote: Bessemer police are investigating the discovery tonight of human remains behind a truck stop. A woman walking her dog on 6098 McAshan Drive in Bessemer called the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department after her dog found a human skull about 500 yards from a nearby truck stop's parking lot. Officials later found a decomposed body. Sheriff's spokesman Sgt.
