Fried Crickets In My Mashed Potatos

I was going down I-10 westbound to Lorado and waz HUNGRY!Stoped at the Flyn J in Katie TX.Got the buffet looked over saw another driver trying to get a waitress and he had his head down.I just got my plate but waited as the other driver handed his plate back to the MGR. He got up and left and i caught up to him and asked what happend,he said there were 3 fried crickets in his taters,but he also took a bite,MMMM.SO NEEDLES TO SAY I HAD THE PIZZA!Dont get me wrong the Flyn-Hook i still eat at,I just look before i eat,its bound to happen somewhere.IM OUT, Lost Dutchman

Anybody ever toured a kitchen in ANY restaurant?I think if we knew what actually happens in the kitchen we would eat alot less.

I'd much rather be eating fried crickets than rat....but if I was hungry enough, I guess I wouldn't complain TOO much.

All depends on what you've been brought up to believe in as 'food'. I've travelled a big part of the world, eaten a lot of things that most people in North America would turn their noses up at (horse, dog, monkey, mashed grubs, boiled mutton, sheeps eyes to name a few), and found that once I got past the 'ick' factor, they weren't always that bad...except for the boiled mutton....that just tastes like lanolin no matter WHAT you do to it.

Do you mean the J in Brookshire, west of Houston? I have never stopped there since it opened a few years back. Now I have a good reason not to!
