What are Truckers lookin for??????

My husband & I are currently trying to pull together the resources to give the truck driver the "ultimate experience" in truck stops right here in Charlotte, NC.
What I need is all of you to send all your "request", "needs" & "wants" in your ultimate truck stop.
No holds barred.
Tell me & I'll make it happen.
We already have a real good start. My husband was an over-the-road truck driver for half of his life & a mechanic for the second half (so far).

TALK TO ME - SAY SOMETHING - ANYTHING.

A decent meal at a reasonable price( Please no Fried Chicken) and half and half creamer lol......you have no idea how hard it is to get creamer at a truck stop.

Yeah! WTH is up with that?

I stopped at a large truck stop in a large metropolitan area right at an Interstate exit. Worst. Coffee. Ever. On top of that, all they had was that powdered creamer crap. I was desperate for a coffee, but I had to throw it out.

I remember the full service truck stops in the western states. They gave green stamps, pumped fuel, thumped tires, swept floorboards, and washed windows and lights. As they serviced the truck, the drivers were eating a steak dinner for $2 before they left with bags of free popcorn. Drivers would give the fuel jockey permission to move the truck after fueling.

A few truck stops should have a barber shop while others have a dental hygienist. The store should sell western shirts and Leaning Tree cards. The garage should have certified mechanics and a choice of new and used tires. The truck stop should have a motel nearby. This takes the place of the sleeping rooms in the old truck stops.

Do not operate a loud speaker system in the parking lot announcing your salad bar throughout the night.

Offer parking for customers that can leave their truck for x days when they go home w/o disturbing the overnight customers. Also, offer a healthy food section. Some of us like to be in good health instead of foods with high sugars and sodium.
