Have enough towels to give out extras if they are needed.

When your designing the bathrooms put a seat in the shower for shaving legs
& a seat in the dressing area so I can sit while putting lotion on my legs.
And enough hot water for all the showers.
And heat in the shower rooms, so I don't get cold.
You can't be serious. You're in a truck stop shower, not a beauty spa. Separate towels for body/hair/to sit on? If I was management, you would get 1 towel, period.

He Asked what we wanted in a truck stop and that is my dream truck stop. And management has never given me a hard time about it. Only the towel boy gives me dirty looks. And those showers are the closest we can get to a spa out here. So we make do. And if I didn't shave my legs and do my hair, all you male drivers would be talking #### about me. Just like you do with other women drivers out here.

Towels that are of good size and not able to read through are nice as well.

Are you really building a place like this?

Cause I want the location!

When I first started driving back in the 90's There was a place called The Giant Truck stop out west I heard pilot bought it and ruined it.
The company i worked for had a vip contract with them.
We pulled in the fuel island and took out our shower bags got into a van and went to the truckstop building. It was like a mall with showers and real resturant.

While I was showering with my extra towels. And it was free for fueling.

My truck was fueled taken to the shop and inspected,
Lights, turn signals mud flaps, etc...
And fixed, and company took care of bills, at no bother to us.

Truck was then washed and parked in parking lot.
Van driver was given key to truck.

After I eat a great meal, with my free certificate for fueling, and filled my thremoses free for fueling,
I came out to the parking lot, where the van was waiting for me and took me to my truck handed me my key back, and helped me put my stuff back in my truck. I gave him a $5. for all of his help.

And off to Ca I went.

And everytime I came by I remembered it and stopped. Always had the same service with whoever I worked for.

That was a Great Truckstop!!!

By the way did I tell you that Pilot bought it and ruined it!!!

Companies pay big bucks for prime truck stops that have made a good name for themselves!

Why bother to put all that work into creating a good name for yourself if you're just going to pawn it off? It's like nobody has any honor at all anymore.

Ok, so I didn't read every single post as it seemed that the most basics were already being said repeatedly. One that I didn't come across, (and if mentioned already I apologize) is to put nice restroom facilities for men/women located out in the parking lot away from the main building. Nothing sickens me more than having to use the restroom in the middle of the night or when I first wake up and have to walk a 1/2 mile from the back parking lot to the main building to use the restroom. And I mean a full functioning restroom in the out lot and not porta-pots. This would also relieve a little pressure on the ones located inside the main building.

I am not sure if you are still looking at this thread.

But... since I started running doubles, parking for doubles and triples if they are legal in the area, a spot just for them where there are pull through spots.

Also, an area where there is short term parking, maybe 30 minutes or less. So if you just want to get some food, you don't block the fuel islands but you don't have to drive around looking for a spot.
