| Do you remember Arrowhead Truck Stop at the Hampshire/Marengo exit in Illinois? The place was decorated with a collection of arrow heads and spear points. One day, the collection was removed, and I felt the loss similar to the day Red Amick's racing trophies, photos and flags were removed. |

| I wonder how it all works out for an immigrant family that purchases a truckstop such as the old truckstop at Beaverdam. As I recall, a new Flying J had been opened across the Interstate. Then, the new owners of the old place changed the restaurant to fast food. I still slept there on my beer runs out of Columbus because the parking lot at Flying J had no empty spaces after 10:00 p.m. Now, it is gone. I remember a truckstop at Pierceton, IN on U.S. 30. When it was purchased by an immigrant family, it became nothing more than a fuel stop. I was surprised to see the pump jockey run across the crushed rock driveway with bare feet. |

| I think in later years, a store was built across the road. I may have turned around there one time when I was leaving the truck stop, discovered something wrong while pulling out, and had to go back. That was when the old truckstop had a real garage. |

| "Do they still have tigers anymore? They used to have actual tigers outside in big pens, and I always felt kind of sorry for them "We were just there about 2 months ago....they no longer have the tigers.
