Old school truck stops are the best places to eat...you get your monies worth in food and service.

I live ten miles from this place. I've been told they have a good buffet on Sunday mornings, however I've been in there many times and have never been impressed by anything there.

The bathrooms stink worse than any place I've ever been. The ala carte food was average. The restaurant has always reeked of cigarette smoke. And the women that work here are the nastiest looking bunch anywhere outside of prison (I used to deliver to prisons in philly).

A couple I really like:

The Southfork Truckstop- Gurdon, AR rt 30 exit 63
Plenty of parking when none can be found at the big four chains. Great restaurant with reasonably priced home cooked food. Showers, billiard tables and truckers store. I made sure to remember which exit by buying the T-shirt.

The Bear's Den Trading Post and Truckstop-rt 37 Hogansburg, NY
This place is 12 miles east of Massena in the heart of a Mohawk Indian Reservation. Parking for about 10-12 trucks but the night I stayed there were just 4 of us (after all it's in the boondocks). Free showers for all truckers (I didn't buy fuel and told them so). Great restaurant with fast service and very affordable. Driver's lounge was like a nice family room with shag carpeting, couch and TV. There's a brand new casino less than a mile away on rt 37.

I hauled some pipe to Ephrata and Lucky Me the consignee was located directly behind the Truck Stop, in fact they share driveways. Pretty neat place.

Truck World Hubbard OH exit 234 I-80
Stayed here last night. Three places to eat: nice sit down restaurant with BBQ special every wed night, sportsbar/pub, and a hot dog cafe. Jojo's truck store has everything from chrome accessories to cowboy boots to indian knick knacks. Barber shop, permit counter, showers, laundry, three game rooms. All this and very friendly staff.

Truck World...One of the best.Too bad truckstops like this are becoming fewer and fewer only to be replaced by the "Travel Plaza" for the motoring public.
