I like the Service Plazas on turnpikes because you can get good coffee and food usually and there are other people around. Sometimes I like seeing people other than truckers, especially, some of the pretty women at the FL turnpike travel plazas. I don't get to FL too often though.

Pilot Charlotte, NC exit 39 on 85, or exit 13 on 77, to small and over ran with vagrants and the such. Always a store full of deputies, but they hardly ever venture outside .

I'm surprised this one was not mentioned. It has to be the worst (Worse than TA-Jessup or Baltimore) and it is the Union 76 in Oakland, Ca off of I-880 I think. Small, dangerous and under the elevated portion of 880. Also stay away from the Pilot on us78 in Birmingham, AL. Lizards 24/7/365.

For the best showers, the Pilot in Grand Island, NE I-80 x-312.

Best food, Johnson's Corner in CO; I-25 x-254.

Worst to try to park in; most if not all Flying J's. Not enough space between rows for 75 to 80 feet of truck and trailer. Also include in this the Pilot in Franklin, OH; I-75 x-36 and the TA in Columbia, NJ; I80 x-4 I think.

Another one to avoid is the TA in Fultonville, NY; I90 x-28. Nothing good can be said about it.

And last but not least, the TA in Willingford, CT; I84 x-71. What a dump.

Some of these may have been mentioned ;

Rough & Rowdy;
1. The Pilot in West Memphis, AR on 78/I55/I40
2. The Citgo in Ft Pierce, FL off of I95
3. Unkown name at Exit 7 on I4 just west of Tampa.

Above average;

1. The Petro in Ocala, FL on I75
2. Unknown name off of I40 near Earle, AR
3. Brand new Flying J in Dothan, AL off of SR 231

You mean the west side and its in Ontario nott Fontana,I'm out there twice a week.

I would say that both TA locations in Ontario are nasty.Another nasty TA location is the LasVegas TA.And this seems to be a common thread among TA locations.TA's are either really,really good(EX11 I35 in Minnesota.The TA mittens in Oakly KS)or they are really,really bad like the above mentioned locations. The nastiest Petro's are in Lousyanna.

Most Petros and Flying Js are consistant in quality.There are a few bad apple petros,not too many flying js.

Bowties, I have to agree that the Dothan Flying J is nice (course its only been open since Feb 07)

Only problem is the traffic in the area and the fact that the exit is off the back row... But food is good and people inside are nice.. Infact I am sitting there right now, playing on the computer.

JB Hunt found out all about the severity of these 2 truck stops.... bullet holes and all.

The pimps park openly and work the lots without fear, with their girls.
