just shows how nasty some drivers are and how the become numb to life outside trucking and just stop caring about the sanitation issue. they were all probably the same way at first then gradually cared less and less. what driver out there do you know showers everyday and is clean cut day in and day out. drivers just don't have that kind of time because of those shippers and recievers and the load planners. they just don't care about your health and well being. and for the record i dont eat the buffet. too many hands and faces to close to the food handling it. i order off the menu.

Speaking ONLY of restaurant fare, there have been (quite many I'll presume) studies of peoples' restroom antics involving the washing or non washing of hands upon finishing their visit.
There have been conclusive studies to determine the amount of Fecal matter in the Ice hoppers alone and these findings determined that a LOT of sicknesses reported from eating at establishments were directly related to these establishments and times varied depending upon customer base.
Buffet lines are notorious for development of diseases especially from the many varied aspects of Humanity and the threat of diseases climbs the longer the Buffets are open.
ALL restaurant buffets are possibly the cleanest when FIRST opened.
The OTHER problem with buffets is that whatever food isn't sold after the lunch(supper) run, is again placed for the dinner run, and sometimes these eatings merely supply the runs with other viruses doing other damages like DEATH.
A small number of people die each year from food poisoning yet not enough to be of concern to the food industry, rather like an intersection where not enough interest has been placed (not enuf people have been killed or maimed yet) to provide a stop light.

"When Technology surpasses Humanity"....it already has, except in the food industry.

speaking of studies, they did one one pay phones and found almost every disease known to man and something like 7 they had no idea what they were.

No eating at buffets here either, for the previously expressed reasons. Once watched a lady go as far as flushing the toilet with her foot, then walk out without even getting close to a sink (with the little toilet seat cover hanging out the back of her spandex pants) and head for the buffet. Because of that, I don't even like sitting down in a t/s restaurant. I will order what I want to go, and go back to my clean, safe truck to enjoy my dinner. I have my fresh meal, get a break from coldcuts and don't pick up anyone's germs unless they happen to sneeze or hack all over me without covering their mouths. Seen that happen plenty.

it would definitely be worth goin' into that restaurant, just so i could get a good laugh at the fat lady with the paper hanging from her tushy. But i do agree-everyone needs to wash their hands. If everyone could take a look thru a microscope and see how active these bacteria can be, more folks of all classes and occupations would be using the soap and water.

I am guilty of not washing hands in truck stop bathrooms....that is if I can help it........But only because I USE the Hand Sanitizer!!!!!!!! I keep that stuff on me at ALL times!! The bathrooms are so nasty. I would much rather use the bathroom in the showers!! But that don't happen unless it is shower time.

I don't eat the buffet at t/s. For one they are usually over priced without a good selection. I would much rather order my food. I will eat in the restaurant though.

(no soap, just water) actually using water only (over 110 degrees) is ALMOST as good as using soap. but it has to be HOT WATER.
i ONLY USE HOT WATER unless i have greasy/dirty hands. i believe all the anti-bacterial crap will eventually weaken your immune system (as do some doctors)
i only got into the opening the RR door with the paper towel i dried my hands with thing after working restaurant.(pizza) mostly just to show any customer that may be outside the door that i did wash'em.

i worked at a hospital for about 8months and during intake they actually sit you in a class to teach you how to properly wash your hands like turn water on put soap on hands wash (cold or hot dosent matter so much due to soap breaks down the cellular walls of bacteria antibac or not) dry hands leave water on turn water off with towel open door with towel toss in trash actually had a test on it was interesting
