even tho, I may not be otr......I have tried to teah my boys, that hand washing is as essential as most manners, nowadays,............ for if you are not going to wash your hands.............you might as well consider yourself the scum of the scum!!!!

They may not always have the best of manners.....but they know "if wish to eat at my table......hands are washed, or starve."

I maybe old fashioned. but, I do not understand, accepting food w/o without showing the grace of washing your hands.

I went out with hubby recently and everytime we would eat in a truckstop which was not often, I would NOT eat the buffet. All I could think about was this thread.

But we have solved the problem of eating in truckstops all the time. We put a fridge, george forman, and a hotplate in the truck so he can make his own meals. Saves time and money and can eat pretty healthy.

Personal sanitation is a must in our line of work - no two ways about it!
My other half nearly died (family priest was called in because he was not expected to last the night)
from bacterial meningitis also, he got it from is travel mug. Many times,I have seen drivers come in,swish their mug/thermos bottle with a little hot water then fill it with coffee. The bacterial build up was from the lid of the travel mug/thermos. ON THAT NOTE..TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SINKS NEXT TO THE COFFEE STATION...MAKE SURE YOU THOROUGHLY CLEAN YOUR MUG/THERMOS INCLUDING THE LID!! Sometimes,if you ask real nice, the waitress will take your mug/thermos to the person doing dishes so it can get passed through the automatic dishwasher(it has a sanitizing solution in the rinse cycle)BE SURE TO TIP YOUR WAITRESS FOR THIS!

This part I am excessive compulsive about. I mean like that Monk dude! I wash my hand's countless time's a day except when I'm at work because there is no place to wash my hand's. When I was in a truck with my step dad, I always wiped the steering wheel down with Lysol. Even like someone that has greasy finger's all the time and then touch's your computer keyboard or the TV remote. I've gotten to where I look at it instead of waiting to feel it on the key's or button's or anything else. It drive's me nut's. Not being racist or anything so no pun intended but every black person I have worked with or been around are BAD about this. It's like the chicken grease never goes away and it's on everything they touch, even after they wash their hand's.

Thank god I'm a clean freak. Suck's my parent's aren't. This house is a wreck but my room is spotless because I can't stand filth. I've cleaned this house a many of time's but they won't pull their part so I gave up and said to hell with it. "I'm tired, I've been working all day." So your saying I've been sitting here at home all day with my thumb stuck up my ### and still managed to be in a sweat soaked shirt? Hmmm, that one baffles the hell outta me! Can't stand going without a shower every day but I can make do with every two day's as I learned how to deal with it but any longer than that and I'll scream. It's bad enough that my teeth drive my crazy like I stated in the "brush your teeth thread".
