I know that drives me insane, since when did people start reading books and newspapers while going down the road, I thought the makeup issue was bad enough.... |

But shooting one for being unthoughtful...nope..just call the cops and they take the car in question aside for a little chat and out of the traffic at least over here. Honking the horn or flashing or whatever is just getting truckers a bad rap. And when a Cop tells one you have been distracting plus being unsafe one usually listen better than an initmadating big rig. Today I was driving the posted speed limit (50) until I closed in on a passenger car where it seemed they were out on a "sunday drive" ...within 15 miles 3 big rigs had to pass this car who wasn´t even driving the posted speed but a few miles under constantly ( I was the second). Now what makes me loose my nerves are those "speed limit cops", think they are driving within the speed limits but passenger cars speedos are way off compared to a calibrated Tachograph. |

| I just wanted to point out the purpose of the Interstate System was for Trucks to pull military Equipment(TANKS and APCs and More) at 70 MPH. So, these new 55 mph for trucks only is crap-What happened to the good old days of truck only lanes? |

| Yeah I really enjoy forcing myself to slow down going from a 65 mph state into Ohio or one of the other 55 mph states, feeling like I'm a crawling snail in a world of blazing ants going by me at 80+. Oh yeah. That's real safe. /sarcasm |

| Not trying to get anything stirred up, but the speed limit has nothing to do with safety, and never will. Its a money cow for local govt, and insurance co. Now if you wanna talk safety, why wont local law enforcement enforce laws that are for safety purposes, ie. following distance, keeping right except to pass, signaling lane changes, and proper operational condition of motor vehicle, etc, etc, etc,. I can only guess the reason these are hardly ever enforced is that there is no money in them. (And if there wasnt so much money in DUI, DWI or, whatever your state has decided to call it, it wouldnt be enforced as much as it is.) |
