More on Tailgating

I just read an article in the magazine "Mother Jones" about a guy who likes to tailgate big trucks in his Honda Accord. He'll slink up to the rear bumper, turn the ignition off, and gllliiiiidddeeee along.

Supposedly, he can get 59 mpg in his accord doing all sorts of strange things like this. He also likes to drive 50 mph on the highways, hugging the white line while he does it.

Watch for those tailgating and slow-driving idiots. There'll be lots of copy-cats starting these driving habits.

Thanks, Mother Jones.

And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

And then all of a sudden a car cuts in front of you. You try your best to avoid this guy who is talking on the cell phone by hitting your brakes. Now the other guy who has decided to save a few bucks by drafting behind you from behind has now become lodged underneath your rear bumper and is now known as the headless hypermiler. Sounds like a plan to me!

My friends and I use to do that back in the day when we were broke and stoned...I just can't believe this guy is sober and doing this; I am sure he would find it beneficial to just let the car idle oppose to turn it off and on.
