Abandoning animals
For the second week in a row I have rescued another dog at a truckstop that some idiot and I give him tooo much credit calling him that, put out of his truck and took off simply because his fat *** was too lazy to take care of. The dog had a tag with a phone number and I called it. It was a driver in TN who gave up the dog to another driver and then hung up on me. Last week in Little Rock I found 2 puppies in a box by the dumpster in the middle of the freezing night. A brother and sister. I have them on my truck. The one the other day is at home keeping my other 10 company. I can deal with alot of crap out here on the road but this is one thing that just pisses me off. If you cant deal with having an animal, try to find a home or call the local humane society or just keep to your blowup dolls or something. End of Rant thx

There does seem to be quite a few drivers who abandon their "pets". We even had one of "our" foster dogs returned by an animal shelter in N.C. because the ::driver:: that adopted him tied him to the bumper of another truck. <good thing the driver did a 'pre-trip'>

Any drivers find abandoned pets looking for a rescue send me a PM snd I will help connect you with a reputable "Rescue".

AT the risk of getting in trouble for SPAMMING, I edited my response by adding a BETTER way for drivers to contact me if they find an abandoned animal at a truckstop or rest area.

I think people who have no compassion for animals, also have no compassion for other people either. I found a cat about 6 months old taking refuge in the motor of my truck one extremely cold morning. The poor thing was almost froze to death. It just broke my heart that some one could keep a cat in the house then leave it out in the cold. I kept the cat, it got fixed, deloused, wormed, and is the happiest cat in the world now. If I ever find out who owned it.............!

I have more respect for animals that I have for many of the people I meet. Heaven help me if I ever catch someone actually abandoning an animal. Anyone who would do something like this is truly a worthless individual.
