Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

The Truckers' Image Under The Driver's Hat. Discuss ways for truckers to improve their image. Urine bottles, trashy truck stops and no truck parking signs abound. How do we change our image and earn respect back?

The sound of my refer running is the sound of money.

While it's cute to post here that guys may turn off the refer unit of the truck parked next to him, don't ever get caught pulling such a stunt. That is the ultimate buddy(bleep)er move ever. Esspecialy to a fellow trucker.

Tolerance

Reefers, APU's, barking dogs, smokers.......

It is a mindset to choose to tolerate. I found that once I did that I slept better.

Not to mention, it is also a criminal act and could be considered a felony.

Keep in mind that reefer driver is bringing you stuff you like to eat... produce, meat, pints of Haagen Daz...

I don't particularly care for a bullwagon to park next to me at night... but I like good steak every now and then, so I respect the fact that bull haulers need to sleep too.

I'd beat someone to a bloody pulp if they did that to my reefer.

You think that reefer is bad just wait untill I pull my MRI scanner in there with a 6 cyl john deer generator screaming away at max rpm.

I pull reefers half the time, I have had popsicles in the back and stopped at a truckstop for a few hours sleep. Next thing I knew someone was banging on my door. My reefer took a crap on me and quit running do to a mechanical problem and someone was nice enough to let me know. I never heard it shut off. Well no one could sort out the problem at our closest terminal so our DC got them as fast as I could get them up here. Not sure if they got Popsicles or koolaid...lol Thats the last I heard of the issue...

Same thing happened to my hubby, and he never leaves now without checking it completely. Including backing up, to make sure that its secure. Those people need to be fined, big time, and some truck stops have cameras, and you can find out who did it.

Its just sick, doing things like this to your fellow driver.
