Tell you what, buster. If you ever got caught doing that to the loads the company I work hauls.....IF you survived, you would spend a few years married to a 6ft 10in, 280lb guy named Bubba.

Ya right. I suspect you were talking out of that big hole about 6 inches below dead-center of your hip pockets, and now are back peddling because of the negative response you're getting.

I love the sound of my reefer running, and whenever I can I'll find another reefer or three to park next to. My first choice, however, is to find lots of empty spots and park in the middle (or far end) of them -- whichever gets me furthest from the other trucks But then, I'd do that with a van also. In any event, anyone who parks next to me does so because they either WANT to be next to a running reefer, or they ran out of other spots and are willing to put up with the noise.

As for anyone who meddles with another's truck in any way shape or form, "Karma Works." The Universe will, sooner or later, feed that person a big steaming pile of comeuppance. Nevertheless, I still check my 5th wheel handle before I drive off.

I was always taught that when I parked, pull tight against the pin and then set the brake...then let em try to pull the release...plus I always check it.

How can someone cry about reefer haulers when I bet half of the trucks in a truck stop are reefers? I used to pull reefers, and I miss having the sound of the rumbling reefer behind me. I didn't nose in, go tot he back row, etc. etc. I picked my spot just like everyone else, and I could care less who I was parked next to. If you don't like reefers, bull haulers, trucks with loud pipes, etc. etc. maybe you shoulnd't drive trucks or stay out of the truck stops and start parking on the exit ramps! Remeber that nice piece of steak you bought for the BBQ? I bet you weren't complaining that a "stinky" bull hauler hauled that cow, and a noisy reefer brought it to your store. I swear some drivers will whine and cry and ANYTHING they can, I often wonder if they wake up each morning and ask themselves "who and what am I going to complain about today!"

My hubby pulls nothing but reefers. When we park, we try to find a spot that has at least one empty spot on each side, so as not to disturb others with the sound of the reefer. However, there have been a couple of times we did this, and a dry van would park next to us, then in the middle of the night, hear a knock, and that driver was waking us up to complain about the noise, asking us to move!! Well, he was aware that he was parking next to a reefer! IMO, he was the rude one! But normally, there isn't a problem, as most drivers understand that that reefer runs to keep product at specified temps, and that is our livelihood.

If a truck driver is not complaining about some thing you might want to check for a pulse.

You are 100% right! If a truck driver doesn't have anythign to complain about, he will complain about not having anythign to complain about! We all do it, I bet EVERY driver including myself complains about at least ONE (probally more like 100) things that go wrong on the road! lol
