Thumbs down Ppl who want to set Truck Drivers 'straight!!'

I get sooo tired of the average 'Class D DL out of a box of Cracker Jacks' coming on this Forum to set Truck Drivers 'straight!' If they really want to know something, they can research and find the answers to their Q's. But that's NOT what they are looking for---they want to b_tch, rant & rave about an industry that they know nothing about! And, many have no respect for the big 80K+ lb rigs out there that could squash them like a bug! It's just absolute "ignorance!' And, then they will start spouting something about a 'college degree'---BFD!! Not impressed---been both sides of the blue/white collar workforce---just educated fools/snobs as far as I'm concerned!!

As one can see, this is a 'pet peeve' with me!!

The only problem is, the "driver" they see and use as an example is probably the one who throws lit cigs out his window, can't stay in his own lane, tailgates cars and other trucks, changes lanes erratically, leaves "trucker-bombs" along the highway and thinks he's god's gift to females world-wide.

I like the way they would presume to pass judgement on us when they know absolutely nothing of what we deal with on a daily basis.

Now, JAM....

Ah yes... I guess we have the "educated fools/snobs" just as you drivers have your "super truckers".

Ignorance runs across all lines, my friend...

Way to speak it Jam, you know there's alot of ingnorance on both sides of the highway, we just need to fight thru it, and set the fools as straight as we can.
And Mack, yes, hearing people who have no knowledge of what we do, and have no interest in finding out what we do, gets really old, really fast. At least, the last few four wheelers I have spoken with (at the local cigar shoppe) have been very interested and receptive, even going as far as asking what behaviors of theirs make us angry. Go figure?

Jam, you know as well as I do that book sense doesn't mean you have a lick of common sense. Even being in college once again after 15yrs. I will safely say people think because they have a piece of paper that says they read a few books they think they know everything. I was raised around truckers and my husband is an ex-trucker and when I would go on the road with him I found there was a stereotype of truckers that was unfair. There's scum in every job, race, or social background and people seem to forget that on a daily basis.

I find ignorance entertaining, especially when it has a bad attitude. Then it's fun to poke and prod the little mind into saying (or doing) something even more stupid.

Lighten up Jam. Enjoy the idiots.

ive got a diploma for completing my truck driving program, and i can transfer the 9 credit hours to pretty much any major college as elective credits.

associates in truckerology.

the problem is, they need to make kids go out and drive around big trucks in drivers ed. hell make them go for a 5 mile ride in the passenger seat so they can see what jack##### your average 4 wheeler driver's are. "i want to do 95 mph down the interstate but this 40 ton moving roadblock is in my way....."
