What courtesy did you show on the road today?

Thought this could turn out to be an interesting thread and possibly help us all be aware of being more courteous when a bad day comes along. It's for Truckers and 4-Wheelers.

Well living in a region of many retirees, I look for the white/gray hair and am willing to give up my right-of-way for them! You tend to be more sensitive to them when your parents get into their 80's!!

I hear ya. We just went through this with my Grandfather a couple years back. The DMV kept renewing his DL long after he forgot what a stop sign was for.

well i was tooling up the interstate today, had another big rig ease by me not another vehicle in sight, and ease right over in front of me , cleared me by 20 foot i guess. i extended him the courtesy of leaving my mike hanging right on the dash and driving on. didn't even question his ancestry.

Now that's what I call being professional.

I haven't driven much of anywhere since very early Monday morning. On my Chicago trips, If I'm going to stop anyway, I let people out of parking lots and on from side roads, they appreciate it, and sometimes I get courtesy returned to me. I never pull in too soon, I speed up while passing to open up some distance before moving back right.

I showed some courtesy to the jack*** at Wally World today who parked about 4 inches from my driver side door of my Suburban. I climbed in the passenger side door and didn't even key the jerks car.

How nice am I?

I obeyed all traffic laws, while driving by some drug dealers riding their bikes in the middle of the road. (Practicing the virtue of patience....)

I waited on a truck in town rather than jump out in front of him just to make a turn a short ways away. If someone had been coming from the other way, he'd have had to wait on me.

BTW, Walmart parking is scary! Makes me madder than a plucked tick to come out and see someone has banged their door against my pickup just because they can't park or are rude.

I stopped a DOT road repair rig, and informed him ALL of his rear trailer lights were out! (Do you know how difficult it is to get those guys to pull over?) And when I told him, he looked at me like I had grown a second head, and told me, "most people don't care; what made YOU stop me?" "I nearly hit your bumper for one thing, and for another, I am a truckers wife, and everyone needs to be safe!"

Well, I changed lanes to allow some cars to merge who dont seem to know the meaning of merge, the only other option would have been introducing them to the shoulder of the freeway. This merging thing really irritates me sometimes.

I flashed ( lights, nothing else) several trucks back over after passing me, I was loaded pretty heavy going uphill.

I guess thats it, I drive at night when there isnt much traffic luckily.
