You might THINK they "meet code", but consider this: last August, the State of Oregon put 96% of equipment OOS for safety violations in their most recent "Blitz", so how safe is that "turd"?.

I would bet that the loss of attention being paid to your own driving, while video recording and tailgating is far more dangerous than this DOT bumper. Tailgating is the single most dangerous thing you can do while driving. Then you add distractions from video taping, all the time traveling down the freeway at 60 mphor faster. I would say that you are intentionally endangering everyone around you, while tring to prove your not the problem. The odds are that you are actually the one that will kill the family of 6.

If you have a cell phone call the company, which nowdays most have instant communications with the driver. And then continue down the road paying attention to your own vehicle, continuing yousafe driving career.

Nope. But you should certainly have called that company. You see, this is the kind of driver that give us all the bad name. They are few ones, but for the most part they are dumb, stupid, ignorant and even arrogant (they won't listen to anyone). We need get rid of these kind of drivers!...They are the reason why organizations such as Parents Against Tired Truckers exist.

Wasn't tailgating. I never got any closer than three truck lengths to the truck in front of me. My camera is mounted and all it takes is the press of one button to start recording and another to zoom in. No more distraction than changing the radio station.

I would think it more effective for people who view the video to call the company and tell them. How embarrassing.......

Calling the company now wouldnt do any good they should have or might have by somebody else that day.Yes to agree ealier comments there are better ways to tie that ICC bumper up like using a strap.We need to help each other instead of criticize each other.So lets all get along boys and girls.LOL

I would have never pulled a trailer with a hanging DOT bumper because I would have caught it on my pre-trip...Where in the world are all the state troopers when you need one????? Oh they are probably out looking for a woman to stop....I was married to one so I am speaking from experience and thats why I divorced him...lol.....

The problem being, when told of his bumper by another driver.....the driver let loose with a string of obscenities. Would you "help" a driver like that? I sure wouldn't.
