You are right. Backing at night in the rain sucks big time.

My tractor has b/up lights and beeper(which is required in NY) and I mounted 2 driving lights on my tanker for backing into the customers storage tank areas. extra wires allowed me to have trailer lights on switch in truck.

Forget the back up lights. I want a grenade launcher to fire at trucks that shoot behind me when backing in a hole at the truck stop with my 4 ways on.

flashers

If I am going back-wards the four-ways are on and the windows are down and I get out of the truck and look for obstacles that I might have missed and it just helps me visualize what I am struggling to do.Someday I can slam it in the hole and someday I look like an epileptic on crack there is no rhyme or reason which type of day I am having but when I am tired I seem to struggle more and I will get out and look as many times as I need too and sometimes I need to look allot.I am told it will get better with time but I am not to sure right now

I believe it's Market Transport that has back-up lights on their trailers that I have seen. I see alot guys use their 4-ways when backing into the dock day or night.

Actually, Schneider and a few others have rearward spotlights mounted on the fairings(sp?) of their tractors. i think they only come on when the shifter is put in reverse.

i did grocery drop and hook for another company that had these and they really helped.

So, good point. Maybe you can bug your boss about installing some of these on your tractors.

If you feel the need to have one on your truck please feel free to be polite enough to put a kill switch on it so that it is not being used in a truck stop where others are sleeping.
Heh, I guess I need to put a toggle on mine or learn to "stab it in" on the first shot

I do have cargo lights mounted on my headache rack and lights on either side of the trailer to light up the "whole town".
