He just acted all irritated like he's got a right to pee whereever he pleases. Bunch a pigs I say

" Live and Learn"
When I was with my trainer, it was in the middle of the winter...... We had to reroute because I40 was shut down, and we somehow ended up on a hwy in kansas.
I hadn't gotten much sleep since I drove last..... I hear the curtain unzip, he told me to hand him a plastic walmart bag, so I did. Then he told me to come up front, and this I also did. I was sitting in the passenger seat, and he said, "I am going to go take a crap, we need to change drivers." I said, "Not at 65 miles an hour we're not!" and he then dropped the speed real quick to 45mph, put it on cruise, and then I heard the curtain zip shut! There are patches of ice on the hwy, I am still sitting in the passenger seat, the trainer is in the bunk crapping in a bag, and I have to do something really quick. lol So I got into the drivers seat as quick as I could, and somehow stayed in my lane.
I had to role the window down to keep from vomiting. He yelled up to me to role it back up, because it was in the teens out side. I had to tell him, that I couldn't role it back up unless he wanted vomit all over the drivers side of his KW. He was an O/O. hahahahhahahaa That was the SECOND time he used a bag to do that.
I didn't know that the girls used a funnel..... I always wondered, as weird as that makes me sound. lol I am guilty of using bottles. But all I have to do is buy a wide mouth gatorade or power aid bottle. No drip. lol
I always said I would never use a bottle..... and then before I knew it, I was pulling into rest stops with a hot load just to use a bottle!
Yeah, it's gross, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to make money, and get there on time. I have not, and will not EVER resort to using a bag however. lol

As long as you make an effort to never do it in front of anyone, it's not a problem. You want to walk into the woods out of sight and use a tree, more power to you. But don't go on the damn pavement! I have to walk on that pavement! The porta potties mentioned above are awesome - if I was going to stay on the road with hubby all winter, I'd probably get one but I'm not sure. Your "staying power" increases quickly and you get used to it very fast when you try!!! I always say heck with it and go out in the pouring rain or whatever, though, and go to the rest room. There's tons of them out there so there's no excuse whatsoever for urinating in front of other people or in areas where people walk.

If I were a man, I'd use a bottle in a second. Put the cap on, throw it in the next garbage can you get to and not a problem. Throwing them out the window is just gross! Who raised some of these men, anyway???

eww. Not me!
You carry baby wipes with you on the truck ALWAYS if you are a female. Then you wipe down anything that's dirty as soon as it's used, put that wipe in the trash and it's clean.

My wife and I have a porta-potti on the truck, one of the best additions weve made. We take out the lower cabinet behind the passenger seat (Columbia) and that's where it lives.

2) Now, as far as doing the other thing, you really, really should not be doing that in the truck because the truck is going to get nasty fast. This is where you sleep for heaven's sake. Plus, this is not fair to the next driver who gets your truck.

i understand about the safety issue and safety should always come first. i will address possible solutions as well as the whole waste elimination dilema in greater detail later because, ironically, i have to go myself, right now. (perhaps thinking of this subject triggered it).

OK, back to what i was saying.

As far as doing the "other thing" in the truck; This is filthy, nasty, repulsive, and disgusting. i know that the link i gave you also has collapsable porta-potty type devices but it does not matter how quickly you seal the bag, some of bacteria and germs get out and form SPORES all over the place and pretty soon you have a truly NASTY habitat. i mean, i don't even like to go in my own bathroom at home; i will open the window completely regardless of the outside temp and turn a fan on and point it towards the window. The outhouse was a very good idea that, unfortunately, has gone out of style.

Now, i agree that safety is the most important thing always, so here are, i feel, several solutions to the dilema:
1) Try to time it so that you do "that" at the same time each day (or every other day or 3 days if you are that type of person) . i know that it is not easy for alot of people to be able to do "it" at the same time each day, so if you can't don't sweat it.

2) What you may want to try is hotels; Alot of the larger hotel chains---i.e., Holiday Inn, Best western, Ramada etc. have lobbys, are open 24hours, have truck parking and are safe. So what you want to do is first, if possible, try to use a door that is not the front door and work your way up to the front lobby area and inevitably there will be a clean restroom that you can use.
Now, after it gets dark, most likely the other entrances will be locked and you'll have to use the front entrance (you should still try the other entrances first anyways) So, let's say that all the other entrances are locked; What you may want to do is, after you've parked the truck, is go in and, sort of, pretend like you're interested in getting a room--ask the price etc. Then after the tell you the price, act like it's just a little too much and leave but first ask "do you mind if i use your restroom?:" And, 99.9% of the time, they'll let you. So now, you've got yourself:

a) A very clean restroom; Large hotel chain lobby restrooms are ALWAYS very clean. Here's another hint: If the hotel has an indoor pool, try to use the bathrooms in the pool area---you've got extra privacy because very few people ever use the pool.

b) Safety; Most large hotel chains are very safe. (still, always be cautious)

c) 24/7 hour access. (this is great if you're the type of person who can't/doesn't do "it" at the same time every day)

d) Ample truck parking. The large (and not so large) hotel chains usually have plenty of truck parking.
Note: if you pm me i may be able to get you a list and location of suitable hotels; One of my previous companys paid for hotels.

i have other solutions which i will post as soon as they come to me.

When we traveled on my Bands Tour Bus, we had a toilet, shower, etc. Most of the J's and T/A stops had a spot to dump the septic tank at the RV fill-up area. You would just dump the tank while fueling. It's different in a big truck. I do know some drivers that always use the restrooms at stops, but I know a couple of them that use the bottle for emergencies. Also, one told me he has a 5 gallon bucket for a trash can and lines it with trash bags. He said that one time he was in New Mexico in the middle of the desert with alot of miles between a place he could stop, and got a case of the Flyin' J Two Step. He said he had no choice but to remove the bag of trash and double line the 5 gallon bucket with trash bags and sit on it and go. He had to stop twice and use it before he found a place to stop. He then disposed of the bag in the dumpster. He said it was cold, but he opened the windows and later burned a smell good candle to clear out any smell. This would not be my choice of places to GO, but what do you do in an emergency? When you gotta go that bad, I guess you gotta go.

I'm a local driver and I see guys peeing everywhere. OTR drivers that apparently haven't figured out that the building they are delivering to has a huge, public restroom, go use the damn thing. I see them pulled over in the emergency on I-10 and other highways, they don't seem to care where they go, or even if their "thing" is showing for everyone to see.

I have to see in recent times, though, this activity has gotten more "brazen". The cops here haul people off to jail if they are caught doing it, it's not only considered indecent exposure, they also charge the "criminal" with some sort of minor charge that equals to prosititution. It goes on your record as such, too.

Geeze, if you're going to dump a urine bottle out at a truckstop or any concrete/paved area, at least dump it down a storm drain or something!

"I had to go bad". Yeah, you knew you had to go bad a LONG time before you ever got out of that truck and started peeing all over the place. It's nothing different than these homeless people pissing behind or beside convenience stores - the stench is nauseating after enough urine has been eliminated in the one, same-said spot.

I don't know, perhaps truckers get some of the bad rap deservedly.
