I got woke up a couple of weeks ago because a driver decided to pull into a parking space instead of backing in. He asked me to move so he could back out of the space and not hit me.

That takes a lot of nerve! I never like to wake a driver up, unless he's done something incredibly stupid like the stories heard here by NoTarps and others.

Speaking of nosing into a spot instead of backing in. I was at the T/A in Bloomington, IL (Why is it that every trucker has gotta begin every story by saying where he was at?? I do it all the dam time.) and when I came back to my truck after taking a shower I discovered a Schneider O/O had nosed in next to me. Problem was he didn't get nice and straight in the spot. His trailer was so close to my truck that I couldn't open my driver's door all the way. I walked up to his truck and found him sitting in his seat yakking away on the CB. I politely asked him if he'd straighten up so I could pull out of my spot without hitting him. He muttered something under his breath, then fired up the truck and threw it in reverse. When I got back in my truck I turned on my CB to see if this radio Rambo had something to say about the situation.

Sure enough, he was cussing me like a sailor. Talking about all the non-driving SOB's out there, yadda, yadda, yadda. Y'all know the type. I just sat there laughing as he got all stressed out over this whole ordeal. Of course, this added to his frustration. When he said, to whom ever was listening to his rant, that I was laughing at him and how he'd like to "give me something to laugh about" (I thought he already was?), I just grabbed the mic and said, "Driver, if you'd like we could talk about this on the ground as soon as you get done fixing your screw up." He shut up and never said another word. He appeared to be amazed that I had a CB and was listening.

This has happened to me a few times.....

Okay I do understand parking is getting harder and harder to find but if you are blocking somebody in then you are just wrong....

What ticks me off is the guys who park in the way when there are plenty of parking spots left......
They are just to dang lazy to make an effort to back into a spot....
This type of driver really gets to me and I bet along with their laziness, they probably show the same laziness while diving and are unsafe drivers....

I've had that happen too. I remember once a lady driver had blocked me in, I get up in the AM and couldn't get out...I knocked on her door and asked her to move and she was really nasty even though she KNEW she was blocking me and other drivers in! She, apparently, thought nothing of it! Amazing. I know there aren't enough spots for drivers, but we should turn on the companies and governments (to make more parking), not each other. Boy, truckers aren't, today, what they were when I first started, that is for SURE. I remember we all used to have a good time, MOST were decent...now it isn't the same. Sad. Oh yea, wait until all the Mexicans come up and THEN the rage from truckers will get really bad...

Mike always takes as much time as it takes to get as straight as possible in every spot we park in no matter what. Some spots are hard to get into so take a few tries to get straight but he always tries his best.

We stopped ONE TIME for a potty break - really quick stop - and were just about to leave (were there for less than five minutes, there were MANY OTHER OPEN SPOTS) when this old timer pulled in next to us and started cursing and yelling 'cause we weren't perfectly straight and he was having a hard time getting into the spot. Like WTF??? Why did you park here?? There's a gazillion other spots in there and we were STILL inside our lines.. just not straight.

Pfft... what a jerk. We just left him blabbering away to himself as we were about to leave anyway.

I couldn't believe it.. he didn't even attempt to be nice... instantly bitchy and mad... sheesh... first time I'd run into that. Most places, people very nicely speak first then, if YOU are a jerk, they change, which makes sense.

Well, even for a two minute break now we take the time to park straight (it was my fault, I said, just leave it, we'll be in and out in five minutes and there's lots of other spots so...)

Needless to say, I never asked him to do it again!! Shut me right up!

I cannot imagine parking in such a way that someone could not get out whenever they chose to. How rude!!!

David and I were getting fuel the other day. He went in to get the paperwork after pulling up so the guy behind us could fuel. I had just came back from getting lunch and was sitting in the drivers seat putting our drinks in the holders when there was a knock on the door. I opened the door and this Ruen driver asked me if I was going to move my truck. I looked at him and asked him " Am I going to move this truck?" "no" LOL the look he gave me was priceless I said "No I am not goign to move this truck but in just a min the driver will be back to move it". He said "well I need to get out, yall have me blocked in". Hmmmm I looked back and Nope he was in the next pump stuck behind a pepsi truck delivering to the store LOL He herrmmffpptthh and walked back to his daycab and past David and pointed to the trailer and asked him if that was him. David said "no, but it is my trailer", poor guy was in such a big hurry all he could do was shake his head and get in his truck (no trailer) and after we moved he sped past us and cut off another truck.

When I was still with my trainer, had to back into a ground level door to be offloaded. There was a pickup parked really close to the door, but I managed to get in and was nicely parallel to the pickup. He had to wait for us to leave because he was too scared to get in a leave from beside us... He had the whole yard to his left to manoevre in, and he had plenty of space to get around us to get out of the yard!
