| The road leaving a rest area....the wide spot past the last parking spot is NOT a parking spot. If you dont leave room for another truck to get past odds are you arent going to get a good nights sleep. I had to wake up a driver recently parked like this. Absolutely no way around, and backing up to go around was out of the question since another driver had that spot blocked as well. Once I woke this guy and told him I needed him to move his truck so I could get around, he asked how much room I needed. Since I had to make a hard right turn to get back onto the on ramp I really needed a fair amount of room.....he decided 6 inches would be enough. And taking it slow I did make it past. I wasnt very pleased but at least I was back on the road. Five minutes later he comes flying past me popping off at the mouth that since I disturbed his sleep I am forcing him to run illegal! I guess my response should have been I need you to move your truck into a real parking space! |

| probably were . and it makes it rough for any driver out there when this happens. happened to my dh , he went up an banged on the door, he said for 5 minutes, finally an Arab came to the drivers side window. didn't speak a word of English . dh finally said police, that they understood, and they moved, yup they were swift. |

| It just amazes me the lack of respect and common decency that some drivers have for other drivers. The Golden Rule applies to truck drivers as much as it does to anyone else in the world--whether it's flashing the lights, dimming the lights, acknowledging them, moving over to the edge when another truck is passing, or parking. All drivers are doing the same job in similar conditions, all should know how tough it is and want to show his fellow drivers basic respect, and hopefully get respect in return. Acting any other way is just immature. Go get a job at McDonald's if you can't be a mature driver.

| On defense of having to have blocked someone myself - I left a receiver and was almost over hrs. Went to nearest truck stop late at night - no parking - not enough time to get to next ts - I tried to limit who I blocked in and left the window cracked so I would easily hear them when they wanted to leave. As soon as they knocked on my door I got up and moved to let them out then took their parking place and went back to sleep. Unfortunately, with limited parking these things will sometimes happen, but there is no need to be rude about it. As far as the ones who left their lights on - Some drivers push their selves so hard they are so tired when they park they forget the lights. I had one veteran driver tell me a story of being so tired he forgot to pull the parking brake and woke up to find himself in a ditch. I try not to park next to these guys, but when forced I knock on door and ask them to turn off lights. |

| Dang it drivers. Now I have been blocked in by a bus. Did my restart at a truck stop. Parked by a couple charter busses that must use this for parking. I got here yesterday. They are still here. I just go out to truck and find another bus parked behind the bus I parked next too. He is sticking out 15 foot past the yellow park line. I can not get out without taking off the last 6 foot of his bus. I am a spread axle with 48000 lbs on the trailer. I call his company. They want to know what time I will leave as they are looking at his schedule. They say should not be a problem he will leave at about the same time as me. I say yeah, unless he oversleeps. There are parking places open he needs to find one. Either he will move the bus or I will. They said they will call his motel. What kind of idiot parks 15 foot in front of the bumper beside them????
