The Truckers' Image Under The Driver's Hat. Discuss ways for truckers to improve their image. Urine bottles, trashy truck stops and no truck parking signs abound. How do we change our image and earn respect back?

Red face Hokay

I haven't read this entire thread...just read the title.
That being said, I HAVE to agree with the title....

STOP TOSSING YOUR PEE BOTTLES!!!!!!!

It doesn't matter how much of a time crunch, nor how badly I have to "pee". If I pee in a container, to save time from walking from my truck, into a restroom ANYWHERE, facts are, I had to take time to park. OK, fine, you are parked, long enough to pee in your container.

I'm not objecting to your right to pee in a container.
I AM OBJECTING to the drivers who pee in former "drink" jugs, then toss them any-old-where they choose.

Do you not understand that this is a "bio-hazard" for the people who get paid minimum wage to clean up???
Oh, wait....YES you do, YOU JUST DON'T CARE!!!

I think that for those who make a bad name for ALL drivers by doing this, instead of having to pay a fine, when you get caught, YOU have to go around , at NO pay, picking up, and disposing of, PEE left in bottles/jugs/ what-have-you!!!!

OK, done with my rant!!

I'm older, menopausal and incontinent. I use a bottle and poor it down a toilet most of the time, in the weeds if we are out in the middle of nowhere. If it's dark and you walk into a rest area no one can see what you are carrying, no embarrassment.

We were parked next to a P.A.M driver at the Pilot in Rayville LA on the I-30 a couple of days ago. My sweet husband who never gets upset about anything jumped into the rig (he'd been out checking the load) and grabbed the phone, royally mad. He watched the P.A.M. driver get out of his rig with a gallon water jug more than half full and pour it onto the blacktop under his fuel tank on the passenger side. It was after hours and no one answered the 800# that was on the back of the guys trailer so I looked up a number from a Google search of P.A.M. and got a dispatcher. She gave us a guys number to call in the morning. The next morning I thought my husband would have simmered down and not call, just let it slide but he didn't. He called the guy and had about a 10 second conversation, "what's the truck number? O.K., I'll take care of it." No thanks for letting us know, etc.

So I can see why a P.A.M. driver would be pouring his piss bottle where everyone else has to walk. If the P.A.M. supervisor doesn't have anymore tact than the driver it's understanding. Some companies are at the lower end of the food chain for a reason.

Have you seen those poor service truck guys have to crawl under someone's rig in a truck stop to do a repair?? I've had to crawl under ours to take a close look at an air bag, spring, etc..

Like I said, I'm menopausal. Not responsible for my actions, right?? Next time we see something like that I'm not just going to call the company I'm going to go berserk all over the person then call.

Not to stir up a hornets nest or offend anyone, but I watched the movie Meth in America, and the one part stated, that desperate meth addicts retrieve the bottles and somehow they sift the urine for any leftover composits, I was very appauled but by no means surprised.

It is a disgusting, lazyass person that will use a crapper and not flush, this is true. But if a #### filled toilet offends you that badly, I wouldnt even consider getting a CDL. You will run into far more offensive things on the road than that. But one question that is lingering, if you took the time to flush the first 3 toilets, why in the world would you go to another head and check it too? Why not just use one of the 3 that you had just flushed? Or were you out to see just how many soiled toilets you could find in one truckstop at any given time?
