Help 2 DOT and Hype

Generaly I think that the hype comes from the Department of Transportation in dealing with the saftey concern's of the American Truck Driver.
The general public only knows waht they see, armed inspectors at scale house and along the road with a big rig. Almost like seeing a cop that pull over a speeder with blue lights on. First thought, I wonder what they did wrong?
The DOT has created an army of (Armed) inspectors for truckers and in light that the other Federal agenices like the FAA, FMA and railroad inspectors are not in uniform or armed.
What makes the Truck Driver and the thousand of men and women so dangerious? I think that in part that the DOT has not been regulated by the Goverment and has been allowed to do as they please. Even before Homeland Security and 9/11.

Perhaps, they are armed because they are deputized to help other agencies whenever they are needed.

In several states the DOT is a division of the State Police they are all sworn police officers assigned to that detail. As far as regulations go its regulated by popular opinion, if enough people ##### about the trucks they crack down on them if a community needs money they go after that cash cow the trucking industry. And don't you realize we are all drug crazed ########## driving too fast cutting people off and generally terrizing the public, of course they need guns when dealing with us. Better watch 20/20 or 60 minutes so you can get the true story.LOL

Seems like they run one of those every time they run out of other "important" stories like Brittany's driving or a politician's bathroom habits.
