Man I have never had a missed or damaged item shipped to me by fedex. In fact I prefer them over UPS. Seems like everytime something is being delivered from UPS it is always late..

USPS Has bad drivers too!

I was on I-64 in Hampton, VA 2 days ago in my 4 wheeler and traveling in the hammer lane. In my rear view mirror I see a USPS truck swing out of the HOV lane (it IS a restricted lane) and onto my rear bumper flashing his lights and leaning on the horn! The speed limit is 60 through there and my cruise was set on 65. I can't figure out what in the heck he was doing in the HOV lane to start with and why he thought he had to ride my butt flashing his lights and leaning on the horn. I did get over and let him by, but I can't imagine what type of mail was worth acting like a jerk! He even got off at the same exit as me about 5 exits down the road and turned toward my post office, so I doubt it was a bathroom emergency.

Shouldn't be, considering the way they drive those UPS trucks.

DHL is another bad one. At my current job we get our checks shipped via Dhl and sometimes they try to deliver the checks at 8:30 am but they know we do not unlock the door untill 11:00 am then to top it off the first person does not get there before 9:30 am.
Well we have to contact corparate to have them call with the tracking number to get a redelivery.
Every time Dhl says we can not garantee that we will get it back today.

At another job I had they used dhl for the checks and the package was marked with the correct address but some how the package gets delivered to the wrong state at another one of our temp locations we were like WTF can you not read ie the address on the package was not the address that you actually delivered to. I got to give them credit the atleast it did get to the right company.
Needless to say the Company that I was working for at the time lost alot of workers I stayed I was getting paid the most and had some extra money in the bank so I could keep working for a few days while the checks got redelivered to the right place.
I would still be there today if they did not try to rip me off I made about 1500 in 5 days minus expences I still cleared 1100.00
I stayed in cheap motels I was only there to sleep for 7-8 hours per day.

UPS has some of the better drivers in the "delivery" business, but their whole problem is their management. I wasted 5 years of my life with them, eventually leaving as a manager. I started out seasonal, then worked my way to manager. I was asked on 3 occasions to falsify payroll records to record "lunch" on "feeder" drivers, so they woulldn't go over HOS, which I refused. They finally tried to fire me for calling in sick, for the first time in 5 years. I had actually gotten injured and sprained my ankle, and long story short, they tried to say I was lying. Long story short, after I got my lawyer and a lawsuit going, and they were given ER reports and notes, they offered me my job back....needless to say; not in a million years! The hourly employees on average are great drivers at UPS, and most aren't boneheaded enough to leave stuff where you would drive over it.....the problem is so many of them are dispatched with 12 hour days by management, they just can't get the businesses off during their operating hours.

UPS is very micromanaged, and I feel for those guys. Where I may 10 stops, they'll have a hundred.

Fed ex wiggle wagons are terrible about passing, clearing the hood, then swinging over and giving you ringside seats to a possible mass pile up. A few of them are considerate enough to turn on a turn signal before they attempt to remove your hood....

Are you talking about the "Freight", or the "Ground" division?

The freight guys tend to be a better bunch of people.

Well, take a look next time. It will say "FedEx Ground" on the trailers, and it will probably be a largecar pulling them, as many owner/ops pull for FedEx Ground.
