Important Truckers Forum Notice!

The Truckers' Image Under The Driver's Hat. Discuss ways for truckers to improve their image. Urine bottles, trashy truck stops and no truck parking signs abound. How do we change our image and earn respect back?

Adapting to the people...

Relative to accents:
I did my first driving accompanying a man who had moved from IN to MS
and was an order buyer for stocker cattle for his group "up home". We would take a load of young ,cheap, skinny ,cattle up for feeding out and bring a load of ear corn back to sell to the MS cotton farmer to feed their stock on. (MS farmers have since leaned to grow corn sucessfully)
Anyway, we would unload and go out to his brother's house to lay over.
They had a Muntz TV. Black and white. 1952 and the first one I'd ever seen and I was sitting there with them and very engrossed in this device.
Different one's of the family would ask me: Did we farm too, what did we raise, what kind of equipment we had, etc. Was getting pretty damn'ed interfering with my TV watching.
Then it dawned on me... They were asking me questions to hear me talk...
So, I eased in to the Mam's, Yes Suh, old "down home" channel and flooded them with Southern.
Took them over an hour to catch on and lighten up...
