STOP STEALING

PLEASE stop stealing my fuel!!! I had to do a 3 stop pickup in philly pa this tues( ) and I couldn't get the last stop till wed mornin so i jumped on the turnpike to crash out at the first service area i could find that was near montgomeryville pa. The next morning when i get ready to leave i notice that my digital fuel meter says i have only used 55.5 gallons of fuel but my needle guage is in between a 1/4 and a 1/2 tank and i thought of the time in ga that my fuel got stolen. I hopped out to do my pre trip and sure enough the sorry #$##%# didnt even put the cap back on. Then of course i have to call my co and report the theft and of course im thinking "i wonder if they believe me?" I make my last pickup and off to the breezewood TA for some much needed fuel. My digital fuel meter at this time stated i was down 80.2 gallons and it took 205 gallons to fill my truck. That means after i figured it up they drained EVERY bit out of the right tank...125 gallons.

I cant stand a thief!!!! And to think I was sleeping less than 5 feet away!

Maybe it wasn't a truck driver...I guess I'll never know. I can only hope it wasn't.

Locking fuel caps for my truck have been ordered and will hopefully be in soon.

I would hate to think that another driver would do that but, ya never know. I try to make myself feel better when someone takes my stuff by thinking they must have needed more than me.....I know its not right, nor is it fair. Karma will get even with them eventually, it always does. I do understand how much that theif pi--ed you of

But it should surprise no one that this is going on. Bubba just happened to be that night's available target for the jerk in question.

I think I'll be stopping by the Freightliner dealer tomorrow and picking me up a couple of locking caps....because I had a feeling it was about time for theft of fuel to start cranking up....

I can sympathize.
I woke up in Brownsville TX to the sound of my dog barking one morning and flashing "Christmas" lights outside my truck. When I looked out the window, I saw a man spread-eagled on the ground, handcuffed by the local militia. Seems they caught him red-handed siphoning my fuel.

Another time, my neighbor interrupted a kid siphoning diesel from my truck in front of my house. The kid escaped with his two gallon can full, and I chuckled thinking this knuckle-head might have poured it into his (gasoline burning) car.

LOL

Re: STOP STEALING

Well bud, I can certainly relate to this one!!!
In th elast year weve had 2 trucks along with 2 loaded trailers stolen. Just last MOnday I went to go to work, I was standing on the steps and reached in to start the truck and flip the fast idle while I was going to do my walk around! Well the truck fired right up for about 10 seconds and it just died.... I got in the cab and buzzers and stuff were going nuts....I couldnt beleive my eyes, my fuel gauge read empty!!! I dipped the tanks and sure enough they sucked it completely dry!!! 200 and some gallons gone!!! So now I gotta screw around for 2 hours filling jerry cans so I can limp it to the T/S to fuel up!!! The rotten S.O.B. even stole my new stainless steel 1/4 fenders!!! Then just yesterday I was out with the boss and sure enough, Everyone where we park our trucks had fuel stolen!!! My buddy had locking caps on his Freightliner and the thieves simply smashed them off!!!

My boss and I have come to an agreement!!! He figures if anyone is gonna catch these guys, its gonna be me! So we made a deal that when I do catch one of them, We aint calling the cops! I am calling him and we are gonna deal with him in our own special and unique way!!!

I own 40 acres, a shovel and a shotgun.
You figure it out!!!!

Re: STOP STEALING

Two of us at our terminal had fuel come up missing last year. In both cases, we usually ran the truck off the odometer mileage since we knew that the fuel gauges weren't real accurate, and both of us ran out of fuel on the highway. I was about 5 miles away from where I planned to stop for fuel, and I came out of the toll booth and the truck just died. Had to make a service call, and get them to come out and get me started.

In both cases, looks like it happened at the mill where we were parked. Both trucks had been parked with one side up against a wall on the preceding weekend, and it looked like both thefts were about 30 gallons. We had the security people increase their patrolling and never had it happen again.

And you are doing it the old fashioned way. I own 40 acres, a gun, and a backhoe. You can keep that shovel business.
