but i change clothes daily and keep my truck somewhere near spotless... swept out, fresh trash bag, even got some carpet! i even hide my "yellow pop bottles" out of plain sight. Like they say, trucking is exactly what you make of it.

overall, my experience in the orange army has been pretty decent so far though

Re: Is it really the driver's fault?

There are ways to clean up between showers if you can't get one every day. Baby wipes are a great way to freshen up and keep yourself clean. I understand that schedules sometimes make it difficult to shower as often as you would like, but that's no excuse for being grimy. Just my .02

No, it is just a ##$%& 4 wheeler. They don't care who is in it. They tailgate me, pull out in front of me, cut me off.............You hear it everyday on the CB and in the truckstops.
I cant say it is the minority either, more like 50/50. It is enough to make a fat guy go get a sign for the back of my BroncoII that reads.......Trucker on board.....but then 50% of truck drivers can't read...........

Re: Is it really the driver's fault?

I would bet that if you broke down, murder statistics, a truck driver has the highest percentace of murders by its profession than any other single profession.

well unless you count drugdealer/thug as a prosfession.

Carry the disposable wipes in the truck...you can use those to freshen up a little....they come in different scents or unscented so you don't have to smell like a freshly powdered Baby's behind.

Re: Is it really the driver's fault?

You can also buy a waterless shampoo at the drug stores. You pour it on your head, scrub like regular shampoo, then dry your head with a towel.

My hair is naturally oily, and this stuff makes it look like I just had a shower.

Man, baby wipes, waterless shampoo, eating from a cooler....the good life.

Now that I think of it, I am glad I sold my truck a couple of years ago to run local. I finished my 9 hours about midnight. I'm at home in the bedroom typing, with some real food, a bathroom, and clean clothes just a few steps away.

I do miss the road sometimes, but not enough to go back just yet.

Too funny! I'm always picking on my hubby about the same thing! It scares me sometimes because I'm afraid someone's going to come up on the right!
