Getting ready to jump in
Hello everyone,
I am a part-time produce delivery driver (non-CDL) in No. California. I have driven big trucks about 10-12 years ago, let my license lapse, looking to get back in the game. Gotten lots of education and entertainment from many posts here, esp. from some of the old hands. Leaning towards Prime. I've read everything both plus and minus on them, spoken with a recruiter, and seems like the best starter company. I know how hard it is out there. My training was about two weeks (!) of team driving, no real instruction to speak of, just "do like I do it, good luck, don't get us killed,
I'm going to sleep." Maybe 80k miles in 4 years. Hard to get real good with intermittent experience like that. Looking forward to "boot camp" and intensive training. No more houses to build, not much remodeling either, so... back on the road!
