You people have no idea what you're talking about. That's why I usually don't bother reading forums like this because its full of people making guesses and passing off second hand half-truths. I drive for Sting and they are a good company. They were formed out of a merger between 4 companies, in order to take advantage of the contracts that each one had. if you want to blow hard about a company, get the facts first.

 

Well then, go ahead and inform us. Quicksand being the fourth company ? The other three being D & T, Gila Hotshot and Rowdy Farms ? I heard good about Rowdy from one of their Drivers, the others ..... well, not so much. We're more than willing to listen though. D&T became 1845, and they bought out Rowdy. i don't know about Gila. With Sting, its a complicated history, which is most likely why there's a lot of misinfo about them. It seems that Quicksand and Flexfrac, and the current owner/management of Sting used to be one entity in the past. The various owners went their own ways several years back, and more recently there was a reformation of some of the people into this new company. I can tell you that Sting, Quicksand and Boomerang were three of them who joined forces under the name Sting Services. It was done to increase the bargaining power of all owners, for the good of the company and its drivers. It was not, as some people suggest, a name change to avoid legal action. I don't know where that came from.

I can tell you that the people I have worked with at Sting Services since the start of 2014, are great folks who have kept their promises to me and continue to make things better all the time for the drivers. We have major contracts and we quite regularly have overflow work that results in bringing on trucks from other companies, usually on zippers where there are many stages to run in a short time. There are other good frac sand companies out there too, but I am happy with Sting and I don't like to see misinformation. That's all I have to say on this.

 

Thanks for your input graycode. The reason I said Gila is because it's in the link I posted earlier. I'm glad that your happy there and I hope it's a place that most Drivers would be satisfied with.

 

I've been in the oilfield over three years, in that time I never heard anything good about Sting (flex frac, quicksand , boomerang,......) Or whatever there current name is. There drivers, the few I have talked to are good people though.

 

^^^Yup def agree with this to some truth...I work for nabors frac midland yard n talked to many sand haulers....1845 was created so they can get the better contracts or so....exp. Pioneer wanted transwood (sand hauling co) to have at least 80 trucks but they didn't so transwood lost that contract with pioneer....it's a smart move for 1845 hope they are staying busy I want to get into sand 0/0 but don't wana give up my $160k+ pay at nabors

 

OP: anyone that has anything good to say about Sting, look at their post account. Most likely chances are, it's one of Sting's employees.

Sting is not formed out of 4 companies. That is the biggest lie ever. Sting used to be called Quick Sand services, before that flex Frac logistics.

flex Frac logistics broke up. Turned into quick sand and fled Frac oilfield (owned by original investor)
quick sand started screwing people around. Jacked
up their bills and re opened under a new corporation and new dot
numbers as sting services. One word of advice, stay away from this company. Don't blame anyone but yourself for not listening. Or you will find out the hardway.

D&T bought out Rowdy Farms and Gila trucking. And now they are named 1845 oilfield services. D&t and rowdy farms were good companies to work for. If you want to work for a good Frac sand company, go work for 1845, Tuttle & Tuttle, or Hearn trucking.
