Hi everybody,
I've been a member for a couple days now, mainly lurking and learning. Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I'm a 31 year old single guy from the Atlanta, GA area. I currently work a dead end customer service job at a global logistics company, specializing in air freight & local ground courier service, primarily for the medical/bio-pharmaceutical, aviation, and entertainment industries. I've always thought that being a trucker would be a cool job, and I'm finally at my breaking point with the whole office/corporate routine. I think the time has come to seriously consider gear jamming. Thank you to all of the veteran & newbie truckers alike on this forum for sharing your valuable insight, I've learned a lot in the last couple days!

There's some really good cheap community college CDL schools in GA.
A few people from the Atlanta area have posted about them and they got good jobs at graduation.

If you want trucking company school, look at Millis Transfer; school in Cartersville and only need $500.00 for tuition.BlueHemi Thanks this. -
Thanks Chinatown!
I have been looking into schools, and also considering Millis. That seems to be one of the best company training programs for starting out. I haven't decided which route to take yet, but am leaning toward company training, mainly because I can't afford to be out of work for 6-8 weeks to take a non-paid course. I do like that Millis is East of the Mississippi & TX only, and also that there is no forced dispatch to NYC or Long Island (if what I've read on other sources is correct).Chinatown Thanks this.
