I joined the forum to ask the odd question but mostly just read it. Although I'm not currently trucking and have not spent much of my life "behind the wheel" I have many trucking friends so thus I gained a shoe string interest in the industry. In the part time business I've run the last couple years I've got to know many fine long haul truckers who have delivered freight to my place. My latest day job is working as an engineer at a manufacturing plant that manufactures specialty and aftermarket truck parts. In my spare time I run a small business that imports heavy equipment and resells it. I also build some screw in pilings for some local contractors. I'm hoping that my part time businesses will soon be big enough that I can quit the day job and just do my own thing. I currently live near Grande Prairie, Alberta but have also lived in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alabama.
