Me and my wife currently drive for Ptl paschall truck lines and the pay is not the greatest .34 CPM split we chose them since we didn't have any recent driving since we drove in 07-08 with Schneider national now were going to make a change in company's with con way truckload so what's the word on con way I heard some good stuff with them first being we will be brought in at .46 CPM first of all. We were tired of Ptl and them leaving us sit for days, telling us to deliver early which is fine but shippers closed on weekends or would be some sum reason we'd sit for 1-3 days to deliver and they wouldn't send you to next shipper without a empty I'm OK with that but not when the company doesn't have one in area or send you on a dummie mission to find one or you FM leaves Friday at 3 and the late crew says there's none in area call your FM on Monday. Also was told we'd get a sign on bonus that was a lie since we were refreshers we were never told that. Break down pay sucks with Ptl also was broke down 2 weeks in west Sacramento ca couldn't get another truck obviously none in area so we went to motel got 35.00 a day breakdown no per diam pay to eat on and had to remind them 2 times to pay us our breakdown and had to remind them to pay us our breakdown pay again geesh. Detention pay sucked at 1 dollar a hour sat at meijers for 18 hours and that was bs. Then they keep giving us short miles 200-500 mile runs now come on were a team those are solo loads. So steer clear of Ptl.

You shouldn't work for less than .50 a mile, split.

Team companies are out there, keep looking.

    Check Quest Global Inc.; questglobal.net

    Here's another to check:

Pride Transport offers dedicated coast-to-coast team freight to keep your driving team moving and earning. We start your team off right with a $3,000 sign-on bonus and up to 47¢ per mile.
    $3,000 TEAM SIGN-ON BONUS!

A friend told me he and wife make $1400.00 each every week driving for R&L Carriers.

US Express has a good reputation for husband/wife teams.

Old Dominion pays over .60 cpm
    Lily Transportation
    Abilene Motor Express
    Decker Truck Line

    Quest Global - unlimited hometime
US Xpress - $8,000 sign on bonus
    R&L Carriers - home weekly

If you cant get into any of the high pay tram companies, you won't go hungry driving team for USX, and they'll take anyone. They have some great team dedicated runs too. Shaffer has team runs too, bit I don't know much about them.

I'm not sure what your qualifications are, but if you don't want to sit you can try FXG. We're a long time team. We make 55 cpm plus 7 cpm fuel bonus. Last week hubby and I each made over $1800. We're employees of a much smaller company that contracts out to FXG. We get the best of both worlds: small company, treated with respect and tons of miles.

    Good luck.

Yup - that don't sound too good.

Any of the above suggestions will work better, for a detailed run down on ODFL you can head on over to my username page and read my writeup on them. $170k gross probably sounds better than what you're doing right now.

Good luck amd welcome to the forum!
