Turn signal fluid and other witicisms

I used to work in the office at a trucking company. Some of our drivers were obviously trainers. We ran 40 foot dumps. These are some of the things that the trainers would pull on "newbie" drivers fresh out of school. The trainees were required to show each day that they could pre-trip the truck and the trainers would throw these in as "extra" things on a dump bucket and tractor combo.

Check the turn signal fluid. (some of the newbies would actually come in the shop and ask for it)

Check the air in the fifth wheel, make sure it isn't flat (they'd ask the mechanics about that too)

Check your ground pressure (do you have a ground pressure gauge?)

Check the nut behind the steering wheel and make sure it isn't loose. (most of them never figured that one out)

Check the air pressure in the air filter.

Check the brake fluid.

There's more, but I'll have to ask hubby if he remembers them as he was a trainer.

That reminds me of the Boy Scouts growing up.

Send newbies to other campsites for,

100 feet of shoreline
left handed smoke benders

They'd come crawling back an hour later empty handed.

Having spent a number of years in the auto repair industry I like to tell the newbies that are just outta school to take and remove the winter air in the tires and put the summer air in. It's pretty funny when they jump and go get their air chuck and air pressure gauge...ROTFL.
