On the side of my '06 Freightliner Columbia, is the standard 110 VAC plug-in. Is this plug for charging the onboard batteries or just for the engine block heater...or both?

This may seem like a fairly silly question, but I am just not sure. I have never had to plug in at night as my tractor has always been kept indoors.

My new house has over 40 acres and I am now keeping my equipment at home with all the room.

it's always been my understanding that's just for the block heater

Unless you specifically have shore power, then all that plug is for is the block heater. Any truck with a shore power system is going to have some kind of labels informing you of it.
