From the 1976 JC Penny's catalog... Google 'wishbookweb'. There are catalogs on there going back to 1933.

I can remember the "big brown truck" delivering my Dad's Christmas present in '69. A Laffayette 23 channel with a AM dial like a reg. radio. We could listen every busniess, police, ambulance and fire in our little town.

darn- $199 in 1976- would be like $600 today!

You can get a new Cobra for under $100 cant you?

I bought one of those JCPenney radios at a garage sale for $5 with the wood grain finish on the front but it was a 40 channel with digital display and ssb. It worked really well
