Hi Don, I've had several 359's and 1986 was the last full year of production, I believe. Now Wikipedia claims, for 1987, Peterbilt made a total of 359 "Classic 359's", so that truck ,it seems, would be #303 of 359. Peterbilt's I.d.'s are fuzzy in those years, I've heard. I could always tell a 359 by the wipers and windows. If I were you, I'd grab it, as 359's are getting pretty scarce.

the dash should be the corvette dash yet at least it was in my 87 359 if its a stand up bunk id grab last year for 359 first year stand up bunk can't go wrong. I had my 87 in late 90s and kick myself in the butt for selling it. old iron never dies just gets worth more.

I own two an 85 standard hood, and an 86 extended hood. Both have CAT power both are as nice as any truck on the road, I guess they could be bought but it would be crazy high. Depending on how I feel decides which one works that week, most of the time its the standard hood. The thing about the 359 is they aren't making anymore of them. Then again a 30 year old truck isn't for everyone

Cool truck. However, look at it. It was once so proud, now, with paint fading, relegated to sitting in the weeds of a farm field. That chrome strip on the top of the door, I believe, was a fix for when the bottom mirror mount pulled out of the door. Are those single round headlights? Cool!!
