I'm looking into buying this truck but a concern popped into my head while reading the jpro report.

Shouldn't the report show more than .5 for fuel economy?

Thanks in advance for any help with the report or any knowledge you can send my way.

The report doesn't show a lot - at all.
I suspect the fuel mileage reading is an estimate at the time of the 'snapshot' , (idling, sitting in a shop)- do you have more pages in the report showing max rpm, idle time etc?

ken052376 and Straight Stacks Thank this.

Thank you for commenting blairandgretchen. I thought there should have been a lot more to the report, but this is the report I received from the dealer.

Do you know if it's possible for a dealer to adjust a report before showing a potential buyer, ie code erasing etc?

That seems to be a generic 'read only' ECM reader. I've seen a Detroit report and a Cummins - 6 or 7 pages giving critical faults, and exact times/temps/speed/rpm at which they occurred. RPM and speed ranges with graphs, time spent at cruise, hard braking events - I mean a GOOD history on how the engine was operated.

I doubt the dealer is hiding anything, just doesn't have the necessary software to pull the report. Have you tried a Mack engine shop/dealer ?

That is just a snapshot of the engine's state at that exact moment. There is no history there at all. For that sort of thing, you're going to need a Mack dealer, or someone who's got the Mack software to talk to it.

This is a summary, an ECM dump is at least 6 pages long and details all of engine options and the operational data. I second the need to go to the dealer and have them to an ECM dump.

10/4 on ecm dump at a dealer. Just called Grande in SA and they'll handle it and adjust parameters if I need them too.

Going to cost 2 hrs labor at $134/per does that sound fair? I apologize for the ignorance it's just trying to make it the right choice.

Any opinions on the price and specs being good, bad or acceptable for the market? IMG_0312.JPG

Looks pretty decent. I drove one very similar with a 427 and 9-spd, at a previous gig. Hate the fender mirrors though, it seems like the fasteners always rust and streak the white paint. My opinion on the 10-spd auto is not nearly so favorable. Early autoshifts were pretty well crap by all accounts.
