    hello truckers,
I got 2012 Volvo with ISX15 Cummins in it. I got issue with REGEN ever since i bought (Used). I did frequent regenerations within 700 or less kms. it been in shop 4 times ( still in shop 4th time)
1st JOB : replaced NOx sensors.
2nd JOB :. Same frequent regen issue. Volvo did job on it and replaced DPF filter saying it is too much clogged and cannot be cleaned. DONE!
3rd JOB : again issue remained same , this time they said me that exhaust pipe was leaking that is why it is doing frequent regen. OKAY go ahead. they installed new one.No leak anymore. Plus i did TUNE UP on valve and injector adjustment.
4th JOb ( Current) : i got into shop with following issues:
    1. Frequent regen
    2. 4-5 litres of oil consumption
    3. engine brake making some whistling noise.
    4. feel like some power loss climbing hills
this time they are going to replace COMPLETE CYLINDER HEAD saying valves were not good and causing oil to go through and clogging my dpf.
what you guys think about it. ? are they gonna install new injectors also ? will it work this time or should i change this truck and buy new one?

How many miles you have on engine??
When they took your dpf out was it excessive oil on it or soot?
If its oil means your engine piston rings worn or turbo blowing oil on dpf.
If too much soot you should check your boost, delta p, exhaust backpressure sensors first. Clean egr valve.
Maybe other problems like leaking injectors or bad overhead.

For power issue going up hill..Are both fuel filters clean? Does your oil level drop below normal?

4-5 oil consumption , no power, whistling noise, blowing oil to dpf sounds like you have bad turbo.

Cummins had issues with cylinder liners and rings, but I think they have re-designed some things. If it's warrantable, maybe you should check into it.
